PLDT Enterprise brings together the movers and shakers of the tech world in the first virtual PH Digicon 2020

Manila, Philippines [21 September 2020] — Kazuhiro Gomi, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NTT Research, Inc., is scheduled to present during the Philippine Digital Convention (PH Digicon) 2020 hosted by PLDT Enterprise. This year’s overall theme is “IMPACT” with the aim to fire up attendees in adopting innovations and technologies and making a positive impact on society.

For the first time since PLDT Enterprise established PH Digicon and in its sixth year, this fully digital three-day event will be held in virtual event spaces from October 28 to October 30, 2020. It will be hosted and moderated by PLDT Group’s Ms. Cathy Yang.

PH Digicon 2020 will serve as the venue for global industry mavens, thought leaders, and pioneers in technology to come together to help drive technological enablement among enterprises throughout the country and region.

Kazu, as he is commonly known, is an experienced Silicon Valley major player with a long tenure of service with the NTT Group spanning 35 years. He joined NTT back in 1985 to conduct R&D on voice recognition related technology development. In 1998, he became the NTT Cyber Communications Laboratory Group's Director of General Planning. Before assuming his current post with NTT Research, Inc., he was the president and CEO of NTT America, Inc., an operating arm of NTT Communications companies in Americas (from 2010 to 2019). During his 15-year stint with NTT America, Inc., he was the VP of Global IP Network Business Unit in 2004, and the Chief Operating Officer in 2009. He also served on the Board of Directors of both NTT Communications Corporation (from 2012 to 2019).

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mr. Gomi also earned his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering degree (MSIE) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana, and his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) degree at the Keio University of Tokyo, Japan.

In September 2009, Mr. Gomi landed on the Global Telecoms Business Power100, a list of the 100 most powerful and influential people in the telecommunications industry.
